1. When Rohit Sharma unfollowed Virat Kohli: Following the heart-breaking exit from 2019 World Cup, Rohit Sharma-Virat Kohli rift started doing the rounds. It added fuel to the fire when Rohit Sharma unfollowed both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma on Instagram. 

This led to a huge controversy as social media was divided into two sides. Both the cricketers, though, didn’t say anything about the matter publicly. 

The Hitman still isn’t following Virat Kohli on Instagram and Twitter. 

2. When Rohit Sharma liked a post which said KL Rahul overrated: While Rohit Sharma is a vital cog in India’s limited over’s side, he hasn’t manage to cement his place in the Test side. However, following his stupendous performances in the 2019 World Cup, he was once again came into the reckoning for the oldest format. 

However, in the Test series against West Indies, KL Rahul was preferred over Rohit Sharma which received several criticisms to the Indian Cricket Team management. 

There was also a post surfacing on social media which said, KL Rahul is an overrated batsman and compared his number with Rohit. Rohit Sharma liked that post and it became a huge controversy as he received a huge backlash from the Netizens. 

3. When Rohit Sharma liked a Tweet against Anushka Sharma: Rohit Sharma once again liked a Tweet and it made a huge controversy. This time, it was Anushka Sharma at the receiving end. 

During 2018 India’s tour of England, Anushka Sharma was seen posing with the Indian Cricket Team in the first row alongside his husband at the High Commission of India, London. Incidentally, India’s vice-captain, Ajinkya Rahane was standing in the last row. 

To this, the Netizens criticized the Indian Actress for visiting a place which was supposed to be a Team visit and not family visit. 

One of the users wrote a post, which said,

“@ImRo45 void is filled up by @AnushkaSharma ???? I believe WAG’s are not allowed till 3rd test. Different rules for different players!” wrote one of the fans in reply to the picture that was posted. Rohit liked this post creating another major controversy. Following it up, he liked another tweet which read: “Rohit Sharma averages 58.19, batting at no 6 in tests. That is more than any batsman playing currently in the world.”

Rohit Sharma liked this post and it once again became a controversy. 

4. ‘I don’t just walk out for my team. I walk out for my country- Rohit Sharma

As mentioned earlier, the semi-final exit in the World Cup led to a rift between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. A lot of speculations were made regarding the same.

Though, Virat Kohli rubbished all of them, terming them as baffling and ridiculous. However, just hours after the team went for the Caribbean tour, Rohit Sharma came up with a Tweet, which again added fuel to the fire. 

“I don’t just walk out for my Team. I walk out for my country,” he wrote on his Twitter handle.
