Robert Vance is a pretty noteworthy player that played in the latter end of the 80s decade and rose to fame in the country of New Zealand for the efforts he put into his cricketing career. He is famous in New Zealand Test Team history for being one of the most prolific run scorers of the 80s. An awesome right-handed batsman and a pretty good right arm off break bowler, Robert Vance is known for his Test Team results, along with the pretty good domestic career and results he enjoyed. He played a total of 4  Test matches, achieving good results in almost all of them, along with a counted total of 8 ODI matches for New Zealand.

Early Life

Born into a cricketing family, there is no surprise that Robert Vance went into Cricketing and became one of the most famous names of the latter part of the 80s. His father Bob Vance was a prolific goal scorer who played for the Wellington Team and a chairman of NZ Cricket. Robert showed great mastery in cricket that amazed people, and he preserved this level of playing late into his life.

Domestic Career

A domestic career that is better by leaps and bounds than most people, Vance played for Wellington in the 1976-’77 season, a season in which he managed to shock most people with his overall prowess and mastery of the game. After he became known throughout the entirety of New Zealand as a specialist batsman, his claim to fame was no longer doubted or contested.

International Career

Having one of the very best batting skill, record and results in the entire history of New Zealand cricketing, Robert Vance were selected for the Test team in 1987-’88. Scoring 638 runs at 79.75, along with three centuries, it is no wonder that this player is one of the most well known and fondly remembered of the 80s time period.
