PSL 2021: PCB and franchise owners concerned about the availability of overseas players for remaining matches

PCB likely to conduct remaining PSL 2020 matches in November

The Pakistan Cricket Board who will be scheduling the remaining matches of PSL in June apart from the one which was played in February 2021 but was postponed for an indefinite period due to COVID-19 cases.

As the dates June 1st to June 20th at the National Stadium in Karachi behind closed doors. All the players who will be taking part in the PSL 2021 remaining matches have been asked to assemble at respective team hotels in May 22nd as they will have to undergo a mandatory seven days isolation period.

The quarantine time will be followed by three day training season for all players.  Most of the players playing in the ongoing season of IPL will be playing in PSL  remaining matches thus many players might miss the PSL 2021 either due to fatigue or because they will be forced to chose one between IPL and PSL, if their franchise reaches the Playoffs.

The International tours of different countries will also damp the spirit of PSL as in the month of June England will be hosting New Zealand in their backyard for Test series also ECB has also planned to host their domestic T20 tournament, Vitality T20 Blast, from June 9 to September 9.

Meanwhile, it is reported that overseas players are hesitant to play in Pakistan due to rise of COVID -19 cases in the country and the failure of bio bubble is an additional reason to deny that and keeping this in mind PSL will be holding a special draft next month to replace overseas players with the ones who are available in next season.
