Pierre Emile Hojbjerg signs a contract with Tottenham from Southampton

Tottenham announced the signing of the Southampton midfielder Pierre Emile Hojbjerg for a long-term contract till 2025 with the side.

Pierre has reportedly signed a deal worth 15 million pounds with the Spurs for a five-year-long contract with the North London club. He also became the side’s first-ever signing of the off-season after the Premier League.

The club confirmed the news on the official Twitter handle with a caption: “We are delighted to announce the signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton,”

The 25-year-old was removed as the captain of the Paris Saints and also dropped for most of the matches of Southampton after the Premier League season resumption. That was because he refused to extend the contract with them for the new tenure.

Even the bottom-placed Everton were also looking to sign Hojbjerg but then Jose Mourinho’s side inclined his interest towards them before signing a contract with him.

In fact, Hojbjerg had also expressed his desire to work under Jose Mourinho on several social media posts in the past and also liked the posts associating him with the Spurs.

Hojbjerg will now be donning the number five jersey for the Spurs in the 2020-2021 season of the Premier League starting next month.
