Pedro undergoes successful surgery after FA Cup finals injury

Chelsea striker Pedro has successfully undergone surgery on his shoulder after sustaining an injury during the FA Cup finals against Arsenal on Sunday.

The Spanish winger confirmed to his fans about the surgery and also said that he won’t be able to play for the side for some time. That means he would also miss the last-16 second leg match against Bayern Munich before leaving for the Stamford Bridge.

The striker posted on Instagram with a caption: “The surgery went well, I will be back soon. It was a pity not to win the FA Cup. Thank you all for your support”

Even Frank Lampard confirmed that the winger who lifted the Premier League, the Europa League and the FA Cup during his stint with the club would be leaving the club after five successful years.

“The lads have just pretty much serenaded Pedro in the changing room and rightly so because of the career he has had generally, and for this club,’ said our head coach, following our final day win over Wolves,” Lampard said.

Lampard thanked Pedro for his services after the Blues’ win over the Wolves by 20- that secured them the qualification of the Champions League.

“It was his last Premier League game, but the impact he has had here is huge. I want to say a big thanks to Peds and wish him well as he goes forward,” he added.
