Nosaina Pokana was born on 12 April of the year 1996 is a cricketer from Papua New Guinea. Nosaina Pokana made his Twenty 20 International (T20I) debut against the cricket team of Ireland in the country Australia on February 6, of the year 2016.
Playing Cricket Career
On 30 May of the year 2016, Nosaina Pokana made his List A debut in the 2015-17 ICC World Cricket League Championship against the national men’s cricket team of Kenya. In the 2015-17 ICC World Cricket League Championship, Nosaina made his One Day International (ODI) debut against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on March 31, 2017. In the 2015-17 ICC Intercontinental Cup, Nosaina made his first-class debut on 7 April 2017, also against the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The International Cricket Council (ICC) determined his bowling motion to be illegal in the month of January of the year 2018, and Nosaina was barred from bowling in international cricket as a result. Nosaina was picked to Papua New Guinea’s squad for Group A of the 2018-19 ICC World Twenty 20 East Asia-Pacific Qualifier competition in the month of August of the year 2018. Nosaina was picked to Papua New Guinea’s squad for the Regional Finals of the 2018-19 ICC World Twenty20 East Asia-Pacific Qualifier competition in the month of March of the year 2019. Nosaina was picked to Papua New Guinea’s side for the 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two competition in Namibia the following month. Pokana recorded his first five-wicket haul in List A cricket in Papua New Guinea’s match against Oman. With 13 wickets in six matches, Nosaina was Papua New Guinea’s leading wicket-taker in the tournament.
Nosaina Pokana was chosen to represent Papua New Guinea in the men’s event at the 2019 Pacific Games in June 2019. Nosaina Pokana was picked to Papua New Guinea’s side for the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier event in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the month of September of the year 2019. The International Cricket Council (ICC) selected Nosaina Pokana as the player to watch in Papua New Guinea’s side ahead of the competition.
