Norwich City sign a three-year contract with mid-fielder Kieran Dowell

Premier League team Norwich City announced that they have signed the midfielder Kieran Dowell for a three-year contract on Thursday.

The 22-year-old Kieran Dowell who played for Everton has now moved to Norwich City for an ‘undisclosed amount’. Kieran had joined the Blues when he was just seven years old and he graduated from the Everton Academy before playing in the senior team.

After the contract, Dowell said on the official website of Norwich city:

“I’m delighted. I’m glad to get it out the way early as well. I spoke with Stuart (Webber, Norwich’s sporting director) and the boss (Daniel Farke) not so long after the season finished so it’s nice to get it sorted.”

“There was a bit of interest (from other clubs) towards the end of the season and when Norwich came up, with the history of the club and what they’ve got going on with the boss and the players they’ve got here, I think it was a really good fit for me.”

In his short career, Dowell has had five loan contracts with Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United. Besides, he also played for the Everton five times in the past. He played his first Premier League match against Norwich City back in 2016 and also represented England’s U-21 team.

Dowell earned himself a recognizable name in the 2016-7 season when he scored five goals in 22 matches as the Everton U-23 team became the winners of the inaugural Premier League 2.

His inclusion in the Canaries could be a great deal in the upcoming season of the Premier League that is almost six weeks from now. Norwich City had a disastrous 2019-20 season as they finished last in the league.
