Match number 6 of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023 showed that Nepal is certainly having a very good bowling unit. The bowlers are certainly having the potential to take the early wickets. Nepal was able to get the USA all out for only 207 runs. This must have given a shock to the USA because their batters are certainly having the potential to make big scores.
There were lots of key moments in the match that went on to change the course of the match. Once the first inning was over, the result was evident for both teams.
NEP vs USA First inning
- The USA didn’t get a good start, and they lost their first wicket on 6 runs. They struggled to have a good partnership and at the score of only 18, they had lost four wickets.
- Even though in the middle order, Jahangir, managed to score a century, still the whole team was all out at the score of only 207 runs. This was certainly not a good total against a team that has been playing regular cricket.
- Karan KC, was the most successful bowler from the side of Nepal. He went on to take four wickets for the team. That really played a key role for the team.
NEP vs USA Second inning
- For Nepal Bhim played the most important knock. He held the batting together when the opening partnership fell for only 25 runs.
- Bhim went on to score 77 runs. In his inning, he smashes 7 fours and 1 six. This was certainly a great performance. It was a slow inning, but this slow inning was the reason that Nepal was able to reach the target.
So, the above match clearly shows that the match was very unpredictable. However, the credit goes to the bowling unit of Nepal. They were certainly very good.
