Naveen-ul-Haq "Only Reacts When..." Pakistani Legend backs Naveen After Spat With Virat Kohli

Following his on-field altercation with Virat Kohli during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Naveen-ul-Haq, has received support from former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi. During the contest between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore, the two got into a verbal altercation.

Afridi claimed recently that Naveen wouldn’t have acted that way if he hadn’t been provoked and added that he is not someone who picks fights without cause. Afridi said that the young fast bowler had never been seen this much aggressive in his memory.

“Naveen only responds when someone is aggressive towards him. He also gets hammered, and I’ve seen him bowling a lot, but he never tried to pick fights. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him act this aggressively. It’s common for any team to have aggressive guys, and we certainly do. It occurs. That is just how fast bowlers are by nature. Such incidents continue to occur, Afridi told Pakistani television station Samaa.

Afridi also got into a fight during a Galle Gladiators vs. Kandy Tuskers game in the Lanka Premier League. Even Afridi tweeted some words of wisdom for the youngster.

“My counsel to the young cricketer was straightforward: Play the game and refrain from using nasty language. I have pals on the Afghanistan squad, and we get along great. The fundamental ethos of the game is respect for teammates and opponents, he said on social media.

The Afghan fast bowler listened to Afridi’s suggestions as well and responded.

Cricket is a gentleman’s game, but if someone says, “You all are under our feet and will stay there,” he is not only talking about me; he is also talking about my people. I’m always willing to accept advise and show respect. He tweeted, “#give #respect #take #respect.”
