MS Dhoni Goes Through Successful Knee Surgery, Gives Hope of Return in IPL 2024

MS Dhoni, five times IPL champion and captain of Chennai Super Kings, successfully underwent his left knee surgery on Thursday in a Mumbai hospital, giving him hope that he can participate in the 17th Indian Premier League season in 2024.

After the final on Monday, Dhoni, who had just guided Chennai Super Kings to their fifth IPL championship, flew from Ahmedabad to Mumbai and saw renowned sports orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, who is also a member of the BCCI medical panel and has operated on a number of top Indian cricketers.

Kasi Viswanathan, the CEO of CSK, told PTI “Yes, Dhoni had a successful knee operation on Thursday at the Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai. The procedure took place in the morning, and he is recovering well. I lack specifics, I have not yet received all the information regarding the nature of the surgery and other matters”.

We have learned that Dhoni has already been released from the hospital following a “arthroscopic repair” keyhole procedure.

He was already released from the hospital and had returned to Ranchi. Before beginning his long recuperation, he would take a few days to rest at home. Now, it is anticipated that he would have adequate time to prepare for the upcoming IPL, according to another unnamed source close to the CSK administration spoke to PTI.

The news of Dhoni’s successful surgery has garnered widespread support and well-wishes from fans, fellow cricketers, and the sporting community at large. Social media platforms have been flooded with messages of encouragement, highlighting the immense love and respect people have for the former Indian captain.
