Rohit Sharma Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians former captain Rohit Sharma is perceived to be a phenomenal player in One day and Twenty twenty formats and his prowess in the T20 games can be seen as he has achieved a lot of accolades in this format. At the moment, Rohit is playing IPL 2024 and on the 11th of April, he made a big record in his name when he played against Royal Challengers Bangalore (MI vs RCB).

The Hitman has completed 100 sixes at the Wankhede ground while playing in the shortest format and has become only the second Indian batsman after Virat Kohli to hit 100 or more sixes in the T20 format while playing at a stadium

Even though Rohit Sharma did not score a significant number of runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 25th match of IPL 2024, he served as a good support to Ishan Kishan while the duo scored a century partnership by scoring 38 runs in just 24 balls. In the course of his knock, Rohit managed to score three boundaries and three maximums.

With these three sixes, Rohit reached 100 sixes which he had clubbed while playing in the T20 format at Wankhede Stadium of Mumbai. This destructive right-handed batsman reached the figure of 100 sixes in the 82nd match played at Wankhede stadium during his career.

Virat kohli is number one on the list

Virat Kohli is the first cricketer who has successfully hit more than 100 sixes in his name at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Before Rohit Sharma, only Virat Kohli had classified 100 or more sixes in the T20 format while playing in the same stadium. Kohli has set a world record of 132 sixes in his name on M Chinnaswamy ground in Bengaluru and till now he was the only Indian to achieve such a record in the stadium but now Rohit’s name has also joined him.

What also should be mentioned is Rohit Sharma will have a golden chance to accomplish one more big thing connected with sixes in the T20 format in the upcoming games. Up until now, no Indian cricketer has achieved 500 sixes on his/her account in the shortest version of the game, a record which Rohit is about to beat. He has scored 497 sixes till now and if he hits just three sixes more he will be the first Indian to achieve the volcanic status and score 500 sixes.
