Hockey India

The 15th edition of Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 is all set to start on 13th December 2023 and the opening ceremony of this marquee event will start from tomorrow onwards where India will open their campaign against Spain on 13th January 2023 at 7 pm.

The opening ceremony of this ceremonial event will be conducted on 11th January 2023 at 7 pm in Barbati Stadium Cuttack.

The Opening Ceremony will be a star-studded event that starts at 2 pm and will feature several superstars, such as Ranveer Singh and Disha Patani, as well as the well-known K Pop band BlackSwan and Shreya Lenka.

At a significant event, singer and Hockey World Cup 2023 composer Pritam will perform alongside them. There will also be other vocalists, such as Orissa natives Benny Dayal, Neeti Mohan, Lisa Mishra, and Amit Mishra.

Additionally, it is said that schools and institutions in Cuttack will grant half-day vacations for the opening ceremony, demonstrating the state’s enthusiasm for the sport.

The state of Orissa has made significant contributions to the development of our national sport. When Sahar withdrew as a sponsor in 2018, the Orissa government stepped in to sponsor them for the subsequent five years.

The Orissa government made excellent investments in the construction of the stadium and the facilities offered to hockey players, and they have renewed their 10-year cooperation through 2023.

India is undoubtedly in a difficult group where they must play offensive and outside-the-box hockey to advance past the league stage. Additionally, the national team must find a replacement for captain Harmanpreet Singh in the penalty corner.

Only time will tell whether India can win the World Cup after 1975.
