Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have finished third in the Premier League after defeating Leicester City by 2-0 at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.

With the victory, Manchester United have now also sealed a place in the Champions League on the final day of the Premier League with the help of Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard scoring a goal apiece during the game.

The match started with a kick-off and both the side started toiling hard for a goal, but the majority of the game was mostly dominated by the defenders of both sides. The Red Devils tried taking the ball past the box but the likes of Ndidi and other defenders deprived the visitors even a single goal.

The first goal finally came during the 71st minute of the game when Morgan fouled Martial, giving the United a penalty shoot. Fernandez took the shot to score the first goal of the match. Fernandez shuffled through his position before hitting the ball and that was enough to confuse Leicester keeper Schmeichel by sending him to the different direction as the ball passed through him for a goal!!

That satisfying goal was the best to break the deadlock in the match and assured United a win if they kept the defensive end tight until the end.

Leicester was hit by a blow in the extra time after the 90th minute when their defender Jonny Evans was slapped with a red card and he had to step out of the field. Adding to their woes, this time United midfielder Jesse Lingard took the charge for scoring an astonishing goal, thereby doubling his side’s lead to 2-0.

United maintained a clean sheet in the game and also cemented their place in the next Champions League season. They also finished with 66 points and 3rd in the Premier League while Leicester City completed their campaign with 62 points.
