Manchester City’s 2nd leg UCL semi-final against Real Madrid could be the most important game in the club’s history!

Reigning English Premier League champions Manchester City are potentially on their way towards achieving the famous Treble. For the first time in the last couple of years, City are being backed to land their maiden UEFA Champions League title but they will have to beat the best team in the competition before doing so.

City’s 2nd leg semi-final meeting against Real Madrid could well be the game which can change the dynamics of the club forever in UEFA Champions League. Perhaps for the first time in City’s history, they made 3 back-to-back Semi-final appearances and a win will see them enter their 2nd UCL final in 3 years.

The 2nd leg at the Etihad Stadium is perfectly set up as the first leg ended in a 1-1 draw. In front of their home crowd, Pep Guardiola is hoping for a historic night against a historic club which shattered their European hopes last year.

From being almost in to get out, City’s wounds from last year’s UCL semi-final are still fresh and they can never get a better opportunity than this to show how much they have improved. Their number 9 Erling Haaland might have been quite in the 1st leg but there is still a winner in him.

In Kevin De Bruyne, City have someone that they will never have again. At the Bernabeu it was his excellence that saw City draw with Madrid and tonight Manchester City must play their best game ever. Last weekend, they defeated Everton to move a step closer towards their 3rd consecutive English Premier League title.

Real Madrid on the other hand have already won a trophy in the form of Copa Del Rey days before the 1st leg took place. This clash of titans can also go down as the best UCL Semi-finale match ever as it is expected to go down the wire.
