It was a day of scintillating fireworks at the Anfield Stadium in a game between Liverpool FC vs Chelsea that saw Liverpool win by 5-3 on Wednesday.

Liverpool FC was also represented with the Premier League trophy of 2019-20 season after the high-scoring match against Frank Lampard and his men. The Reds were in a blasting form as they scored a triplet within the first half of the match. The first goal came during the 23rd minute off the midfielder, Naby Keita. He unleashed a rising shot from the top right behind the 30 yards and gave the first breakthrough of the match.

Fifteen minutes later,  Alexander-Arnold steps up for a stunning free-kick from the top-right corner that easily whipped through the Blues defence, resulting in 2-0. Reds became unshakable in the match after the third goal before the half time, following Wijnaldum’s smacking shot into the top left. Jurgen Klopp’s men showed the power of persistence and also why they deserved to be adjudged the champions of this season.

However, Chelsea had an immense comeback during the extra time of the first half as their striker Olivier Giroud nets a superb direct shot from just 10 yards away to finally open the account for his side. The scores in the half-time ticked 3-1, Liverpool on top.

Chelsea ruled the second half by scoring two more goals in the match, first during the 61st minute when Christian Pulisic whipped through the defence of the Reds in a typical manner of a mid-fielder, before passing it on to Tammy Abraham (substitute) and he skelps the ball towards the goal.

This time it was Pulisic to have the last laugh as this time he carries the ball towards the channel and lashes at the Reds keeper with a superb shot from the top-right, resulting in 4-3.

Liverpool did stage a comeback again by scoring as many as two goals in the second half and the fifth goal came in the form of Chamberlain’s shot from the 10 yards.  The scores after the final time were 5-3, and overall 8 goals scored during the high-scoring match. Jurgen Klopp and his men were presented with the trophy as they now have 96 points this season whereas, Chelsea still have the chance of making it into the Champions League when they meet Wolverhampton FC on Sunday.
