Lanka Premier League 2023 Eliminator: 4 Wickets of Nuwan Thushara goes in vain

B-Love Kandy has certainly given a great performance to qualify for the Qualifiers. Without any doubt, it was completely a one-sided game, because B-Love Kandy completely outclassed the other team. The best performance of the match was certainly given by Wanindu Hasaranga. However, there were some performances from the losing side that needed to be considered. One of those performances was given by Nuwan Thushara. He was able to take 4 wickets for his team, in only 4 overs. However, he was not able to get any support from the other end.

Contribution of Nuwan Thushara

Nuwan Thushara was able to take the wickets from the upper, middle, and lower batting lineup. This was certainly a brilliant contribution. He was able to make important wickets, but he was not very economical. His economy was 10 runs per over, and that was certainly not the best, because the batter from the opponent team was getting runs easily.

The first wicket of N Thushara was of the opener Fakhar Zaman. However, he was not very effective in breaking the next partnership and B-love Kandy got a brilliant partnership for the 3rd wicket.
The 5th, 6th, and 8th wicket of the match was taken by Nuwan Thushara. All of these wickets were important, but by the time he got those, the damage was already done.

By the time the 8th wicket of the innings was taken by Nuwan Thushara on the last ball of the 20th Over, the score was 188. The batters of the Jaffna Kings were not able to stand in front of the quality bowling shown by the B-Love Kandy. The whole team was all out at a short score of 127 runs, and B-Love Kandy won by a huge margin of 61 runs. Jaffna Kings have been eliminated from the tournament. But there is no doubt that there are lots of lessons and positives for the next tournament.
