Team India players such as Virat Kohli, Ishant Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant have been included in the 30-member squad for the Delhi team for the upcoming Ranji Trophy that begins from December 9 with Delhi taking on Kerala in their opener.
While it is expected that skipper Kohli will not feature in the tournament due to his hectic schedule and his international commitments, Ishant and Dhawan, who don’t play for India in all formats might be up for selection to play for Delhi if they are not on national duty. Pant, who is no more a starter in the Test team, can also feature in the Ranji Trophy after the limited-overs series against West Indies ends.
Pant was part of the Indian team that played Bangladesh in the two-Test series that concluded on Sunday. However, he was not a part of the 11, with Wriddhiman Saha getting a look-in over him. Pant was eventually released to turn up for Delhi in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy.
Navdeep Saini is also shortlisted in the Delhi side.
