US President Donald Trump is currently on a short visit to India. The President of the United States of America along with PM Modi inaugurated the world’s largest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday. Trump received a thumping reception at the Motera Stadium where he highlighted the relations between the two nations.

Trump talked about the rise of India as a nation. He touched upon various aspects while also lauding the country for producing cricketing greats like Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli.

“This is the country where your people cheer on the biggest cricketers, from Sachin Tendulkar to Virat Kohli, the greatest in the world, said Trump at the event.

While Trump did mention the names of cricket icons in his speech, he failed to pronounce their names correctly. He called Sachin Tendulkar as “Soochin Tendulkar” and Virat Kohli as “Virot Kole”, which received quite a backlash from across the globe.

Former England cricketer, Kevin Pietersen also took to twitter and slammed US President for pronouncing the names of the legends wrongly.

Kevin-Peterson-

FFS, @piersmorgan, pls ask your mate to do some research in pronouncing legends names?! his tweet read.

Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli have been two of the greatest cricketers India have ever produced. Virat Kohli is currently leading the Indian team in the ongoing two-match Test series against New Zealand. New Zealand is leading the series 1-0, with one match left to be played.

India started the tour exceptionally, having whitewashed New Zealand 5-0 in the ODI series. However, New Zealand brought India back to the ground, winning the ODI series 3-0.

A lot of questions have been raised over Virat Kohli’s poor run form on the tour. The Indian skipper amassed 201 runs in nine innings he has played. The Indian skipper scored only one half-century in his nine innings.
