Kamran Akmal Picks Himself in his Pakistan All Time ODI XI

Kamran Akmal is again at the target of social media trollers after he names himself in his Pakistan all-time ODI XI. Kamran Akmal was once the apple of every Pakistan fan’s eyes during the early phase of the millennium, but later struggled with batting consistency and mediocre wicket-keeping and was finally dropped in 2017.

Kamran Akmal ensured that he picks the players of his own generation rather than covering wider landscape. However, he did include the all-time greats like Wasim Akram and Saeed Anwar.

The trolling part was he chose himself in the list, in a way declaring himself as the greatest wicket-keeper Pakistan has ever produced ahead of the likes of Rashid Latif, Moin Khan and Wasim Bari. He chose Saeed Anwar and Babar Azam for the opening slot.

The middle-order comprises of Mohammad Hafeez, Umar Akmal and Shoaib Malik. For the all-rounder slot, he picked Shahid Afridi and Abdul Razzaq.

In the bowling department, he chose sultan of swing Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akhtar and Saqlain Mushtaq.

Kamran Akmal has played 53 tests till date and scored 2648 runs that include 6 hundreds and 12 fifties. He has played 157 ODI’s and scored 3236 runs with the help of 5 hundred and 10 fifties.

He played 20 T20 international matches and scored 987 runs with the help of 7 fifties.

Kamran Akmal played his last international match for Pakistan against West Indies in 2017 and since then has been waiting for his turn in international cricket. He is already 37 and it is unlikely to make a comeback in international cricket.
