Jose Mourinho relaxed over Tottenham’s January transfer window

As the January transfer window nears, every team have started to chalk down what they want to salvage their season. In case of Tottenham Hotspurs, Jose Mourinho has revealed his transfer strategy for the winter transfer window.

Jose Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino recently and Tottenham have put their season back on the track with gouging out the important wins. However, it is believed that Daniel Levy has told the Portuguese manager that there will be no much funds available in the January transfer window.

When the question was asked regarding the winter transfer window after their defeat against Chelsea, Mourinho replied;

“I am at Tottenham Hotspur. I know the profile of club, I know the project, I know the vision, I know the objectives and I know that in our transfer market we are going just to react to things that can happen to us in the market.

After their defeat against Chelsea, Jose Mourinho told that he has complete trust in the players and the process. He said;

“I accept better the goalkeeper technically wrong and makes a mistake and it’s a goal. It’s easier for me to accept than concentration things.

“How can you improve concentration? How is the nature of the player who stops concentrating? How can I help a player who doesn’t have this natural condition? By working.

“By getting exercises where every second of the exercise demands high concentration levels.

“So if you ask if I’m worried with that, yes I’m worried with that. If you ask me if I don’t trust these players anymore, I tell you yes, yes, I trust them. And I think with work I am going to improve these players.”

Asking about the transfer market which has inflated post-Neymar’s transfer to the French capital, Mourinho opined that they are going to buy the players who will rather suit the philosophy of the club and not only their price tag. He explained;

“Like I was saying if some player leaves we need to adapt to it. But we are never going to be the kings of the market, attacking important targets, fighting with clubs that are ready by their profile and philosophy to splash the cash and to go to the important targets.

“We need to do our things in an intelligent way, a creative way, and I repeat I like the players that I have.”

Recently, Spurs’ centre back Toby Alderweirald signed the contract. However, which way Christian Eriksen will go in January as his contract is on the verge of termination with the North London club.
