Jasprit Bumrah becomes India’s highest wicket-taker in T20s

India registered another emphatic series victory after winning the third T20 game against Sri Lanka by 78 runs on Friday. Virat Kohli and Co. registered two consecutive wins and take the series 2-0, courtesy all-rounder performances from the players.

India has now won 13 out of 18 matches played between both sides.

Indian fast bowler, Navdeep Singh has been awarded man of the series for his outstanding performances in the series. He was the pick of the bowler in the third match, picking three wickets in the match.

JASPRIT BUMRAH BECOMES INDIA’S HIGHEST WICKET IN T20I

Ahead of the third  T20 match against Sri Lanka, Jasprit Bumrah was one wicket short of becoming the highest wicket for India in T20s. The Indian fast bowler didn’t make his fans wait for the next series, as he took the wicket of Danushka Gunathilaka in his first over of his spell to take his tally to 52 wickets and in the process went past the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravi Ashwin.

Indian leggie Yuvdendra Chahal and out of favor Ravi Ashwin now stand at second position with 52 wickets in the shortest format of the game.

Having been out of action for the last four months due to a stress fracture injury, Indian fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah made his comeback in the international cricket in the second T20 match against Sri Lanka. He finished with the figures of 1 for 32 in the second T20 followed by 1/5 in two overs in the third and final T20 match.

The series has been done and dusted as a tough test awaits India as they welcome Australia for a three-match ODI series. The first ODI will be played on 14th January, while the second and third ODI will be played on 17th and 20th January respectively. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, will look to put this tour behind them and now go to Zimbabwe for two-Test series starting from 19th January.
