“IT WAS AN OPPORTUNITY TO WIN” laments Lucas Moura

Lucas Moura, Tottenham Hotspurs’ attacker, gave his view on the game after Jose Mourinho’s men drew against Middlesborough. Middlesborough had a chance to create a record of winning against Spurs however Lucas Moura saved the blushes for Lillywhites.

It is not the first time Lucas is saving the blushes for Spurs but he did the same against Rochdale last year. Against Rochdale, Tottenham came from behind to win the match courtesy of Moura’s goal.

Taking about the goal against Rochdale, Moura told;

“I remember Rochdale, that game will be in my heart forever, my first goal,” he said. “I’m happy to score again. It’s a good competition and we have an opportunity to win a trophy, so let’s fight, let’s work and I will give everything to win this competition.”

Against the lower league team, the match was even. However, at least to say Spurs had more possession considered to Middlesborough. According to the match statistics, Tottenham had 14 shots on target compared to that of 6 shots. Also, they had 14 corners and enjoyed a 70% possession in the game.

Taking about the game against Middlesborough, Moura lamented that they couldn’t win the match for the side even though they had an opportunity to go ahead in the FA Cup.

It was an oppurtunity to win but at least we didnt lose. We have the next game and lets this week to improve and work more’

“It was a tough game and the feeling is a bit bad, because we could win this game, we had the opportunities to score the second goal, but we fight on,”

“We know that in the last few games we’ve not been at our best and we need to improve some things, we know that. This was a good opportunity to win but at least we didn’t lose, we have the next game and let’s take this week to improve and work more.”

After the draw, Tottenham has to play a rematch against the same side in the upcoming weeks. Spurs are not the only side to play the rematch, Manchester United will also have to play the rematch against Wolves which ended in a draw.
