ISL: Raphael Augusto Part ways with Bengaluru FC

Brazilian midfielder Raphael Augusto parted ways with the Bengaluru FC ahead of upcoming ISL 2020-21 season. This news was confirmed on Saturday on Bengaluru FC official Twitter handle.  Augusto and Bengaluru FC mutually agreed to terminate the Brazilian’s contract, owing to “personal reasons”.

“Bengaluru FC and @Raphael_A12 have mutually agreed to terminate the Brazilian’s contract with the club, owing to personal reasons. We wish Rapha and his family the best through this phase. #ThankYouRapha,” Bengaluru FC tweeted.

He has also represented Chennai in the past where he has played 68 games for them and scored 7 goals. He was born in Rio De Janerio  and graduated from the youth academy of Fluminense and then he made his debut for the Serie A season. After playing for Duque de Caxias and America-Rn for his county on loan. His major break came when he joined Major Soccer club D.C United on Loan on 28th July 2012. His debut came on as a substitute for the injured Marcelo Sargosa in 3-1 defeat against Houston Dyanamo.

He made his debut for the Indian Super League Franchise Chennaiyan FC where he was transferred on loan from Bangu on 11th August 2015 and scored his first goal against ATK where they lost the match against ATK by 2-1. Although  Chennai won that season despite him not playing in the final due to injury. However on 17th July 2016 he signed permanently with the club and played all the matches for the club in the same season.
