IPL Player Auction set to take place on 18th February 2021 in Chennai

For all IPL Fans there is good news for you as it has been confirmed that the player auction of cash rich league has been scheduled in Chennai on 18th February 2021.

However on January 20th 2021 all the franchise have declared the list of their retained and released players ahead of IPL 2021 where few big names including the likes of Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Aaron Finch and Chris Morris have been released by the respective franchise. It will be interesting to see that whether any franchise will show interest in taking these ace players ahead of IPL 2021.

The news about the date and time for IPL 2021 auction was confirmed on official IPL Twitter handle where they wrote “Alert: IPL 2021 Player Auction on 18th February 2021 Venue: Chennai  How excited are you for this year’s Player auction? Set your reminder folks “

As far as what is left in the purse is concerned, the Kings XI Punjab side has the whopping INR 53.2 Crores left, and they have 9 slots to be filled. On the other hand David Warner led Sun Risers Hyderabad side will be looking to fill 3 slots to fill in their lineup with an amount of Rs 10.75 crores left in their kitty. However Royal Challengers Bangalore is the only franchise out of remaining seven who have most slots to fill which is 13 in number ahead of main event of cash rich league.

Virat Kohli led side has Rs 35.7 Crores left in their kitty. However there is lot of surprise picks and young talent who will get an opportunity to play in IPL 2021. As IPL has played a pivotal role in shaping the life of youngsters by making them financially independent and grooming their skills to a great extent.
