IPL 2023 : Micehal Bracewell the leading front runner to replace Will Jacks in RCB!

In a recent development, English International Batsman Will Jacks pulled out of the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. The South-Indian outfit bought the player for a sum of INR 3.2 Crores but during his recent tour to Bangladesh, Jacks sustained a muscle injury and it will come as a blow for an RCB side which looking for their maiden IPL trophy.

Jacks was expected to come in handy for RCB as he would have provided more strength to their batting line-up in the middle order alongside Glenn Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik among other bright domestic batters. However, his fielding effort against Bangladesh in the 2nd ODI (of a 3-match ODI series) put him under scrutiny.

After all the Scans & tests, it has been declared that Will Jacks is not coming back and Royal Challengers Bangalore are already exploring a deal with New Zealand’s Micheal Bracewell. The Kiwi International came out as a key member for Kane Williamson’s side by playing some explosive knocks.

Although his performance in T20Is were not as good but in the ODI format, Bracewell scored 188 runs in 3 matches. It also included a fantastic debut white ball match in the Indian soil (Hyderabad) as he smacked 140 off 78 balls as a batter who comes in at #7.

Bracewell had a strike rate of 179.48 during his 140 alongside 12 Fours and 10 Sixes. And as sources revealed, RCB are all set to line up a move for the 32-year-old Left Handed batter. He is a fair replacement for Will Jacks who has just played 2 International T20 games in 2022 and made his ODI debut on 1st march 2023 during an ODI series.

His asking price during the IPL Mini Auction was INR 1 Crores and RCB splashed 2 Crores more for the Englishman.
