Delhi Capitals spinner Axar Patel revealed that how we convinced skipper Rishabh Pant to bowl the Super Over against SRH at MA  Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Patel who played an Instrumental role where he clinched 2 wickets and in the super over he only gave away seven runs which eventually helped his franchise seize a victory against SRH.

After the match he caught up with a special interview with fellow DC  teammate Avesh Khan  where the latter asked former that as per head coach ricky ponting he was supposed to bowl the super over but eventually the former bowled that to which Avesh asked Axar what exactly he said to Pant which made him change the mind.

To which Axar said that he said to skipper that the pitch was supporting spinners more than fast bowlers in detail.

“I was just thinking that it is very difficult to score runs against a spinner on this wicket. I felt a spinner would be much better than a fast bowler on this wicket,” Axar said in the video which was uploaded by IPL’s official Twitter handle.

The Gujarat based all rounder further added that the left handed David Warner might find it difficult to hit him towards the longer side of the ground.

I went to the captain and explained how it would be difficult for the left-hander to target one side of the boundary, and the right-hander can get out if he takes a chance while targeting the shorter side,” Axar Patel revealed.

Delhi Capitals will next lock horns against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 27th 2021 in Ahmadabad.
