Royal Challengers suffered a 59-run defeat at the hands of Delhi Capitals on Monday. The latter displayed an all-round performance to outclass Virat Kohli and Co. and thereby take two points at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. With that defeat, RCB have now lost 2 games in 5 matches are currently sitting at third position in the points table.
RCB skipper, Virat Kohli said that they failed to perform as a unit while highlighting their below-par performance from both bat and ball. Kohli also expressed his disappointment for dropping easy catches as it has led to a huge effect on the result of the game.
“Those important chances in between, we need to grab when the opportunity comes our way, it is not like we are dropping half chances, we are dropping sitters and those things hurt you. The execution with the ball towards the end could have been better and with the bat as well. Not a complete performance in any regard today,” Virat Kohli said after the game.
Virat Kohli heaped praise on Delhi Capitals’ performance in the last game. He termed Shreyas Iyer and Co. as a balanced side, stating that they are a tough team to beat.
“(Delhi) are playing some good cricket. Their batting line up is fearless, they have a good balance in the side, their bowling line up is pretty good too and they will be hard to beat, I wouldn’t say unbeatable but they are a tough side to beat,” Virat Kohli said.
Royal Challengers Bangalore will play their next match against Chennai Super Kings on Saturday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
