Indian Captain Virat Kohli Scores A Duck On Comeback

Second day of the first test match between India and Bangladesh resulted in disappointment for the Indian fans as the Indian skipper Virat Kohli fell for a duck off the second delivery he faced.

Kohli was coming back from a bit of a break as he had withdrawn himself from the T20I series against Bangladesh.

He joined the Indian team just a couple of days before the ongoing test match and had one or two practice sessions before coming into the game. The 30-year old looked a bit rusty yesterday as well as he dropped a catch in the slip cordon.

Today, the ball was moving a little bit because of the early morning moisture when Kohli walked in to bat, but his dismissal was more down to his tentative footwork than the movement of the ball.

Generally, Kohli is very good in terms of picking the length of the ball. He hardly gets caught in the crease. He is either right forward or right back. But facing Abu Jayed in the first session of day 2, he got caught in his crease.

The front foot didn’t go forward enough and the inward movement of the ball ended up trapping the Indian captain right in front of the stumps.

India are, however, still in control of the game as they are leading by 38 runs at the moment with 7 wickets in the shed.

The young opener Mayank Agarwal is going great guns and is closing on another century which would be the third of his test career if he gets there. He is 9 runs away from it at the moment.

With Agarwal at the other end is the Indian vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane who has scored a solid 35 off 72 balls so far. The duo has stitched together a 69-run partnership.
