India dethroned from the latest ICC Test rankings

India still remains at the top of the World Test Championship where every team needs to play six series against each other and 9 top test playing nations will participate in it.

During the 2016-17 period, India performed extremely well as they achieved 12 test victories and faced just one defeat. But that season was eliminated from the latest ICC rules. This has had a drastic impact on India’s ICC ranking.

Australia has reached the top of Test rankings as well as in T20 rankings while England dominates in the ODI format.

If we look at the rating points of Test Cricket that all these teams have at the moment Australia, Newzealand and India have 116,115 and 114 points respectively sharing first, second and third positions respectively.

This is the second closest encounter in terms of ranking points since the test ranking status was started in 2003.

However, India continues to be in 2nd position after England in ODI Format.

Pakistan also drops its ranking from the first position to fourth position in T20 rankings. There have been ample changes in the rankings and keeping the year of 2016-17 out of the context raises a lot of questions and the possibility to ponder that thing is immense.
