India and West Indies finished their five-match T20I series level at 2-2 after the decider at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru was abandoned because of rain on Saturday, 17 October 2026, resulting in no result.

An earlier rain delay reduced the contest to nine overs per side. West Indies won the toss and chose to field. India reached 118/5 in 7.4 overs before the rain returned and brought the innings to a halt.

Ishan Kishan top-scored for India with 30 off 10 balls, while Naman Dhir remained unbeaten on 24 off six balls. Tilak Varma was bowled by Shamar Springer for 7 with India on 118/5 as the rain grew heavier. Springer ended with figures of 2/17.

Persistent rain meant West Indies could not begin the minimum five-over chase required for a result, and the match was called off. The series therefore ended without a winner.

The draw affected the updated ICC men's T20I team rankings. India lost two rating points and West Indies gained one after the fifth match. England lead the table on 269, with India second on 267 from 71 matches and Australia third on 260.

West Indies captain Shai Hope scored two centuries in the series, a total that matches the joint‑most by any visiting batter on the tour.

India's series began in Lucknow on 6 October, where captain Shreyas Iyer hit his maiden T20I century, an unbeaten 102 off 43 balls, leading India to an eight‑wicket win with 32 balls to spare. Iyer later made 40 in the second T20I in Ranchi and 1 in Indore.

Before the Bengaluru match, Kishan was top of the T20I batting rankings on 904, ahead of Abhishek Sharma on 891 and Iyer, who was fourth on 798. West Indies all‑rounder Roston Chase moved up to third among T20I all‑rounders after taking five wickets in the last two T20Is against India.
