Inaugural season of MLC to be played in the cities of Dallas and Morrisville

The Inaugural edition of the Major League Cricket (MLC) is all set to kick-off in a month’s time and the preparations have begun in full swing. Ahead of the first season, the organizers have revealed the host cities and stadium that will feature all the league and knockout matches.

The tournament is being operated by American Cricket Enterprises (ACE) and it is being supported by the Cricket board of USA. Major superstars of World cricket will grace the tournament with their presence and there is a sense of belief that the inaugural edition could be a major success.

MLC is slated to start from July 13 onwards with the Finale set to be played on 30th of July. A total of 15 matches will be played including 12 League stage fixtures and 3 knockout matches including the Finale. 6 teams will be participating in the first ever Major League Cricket T20 and the number of teams is also expected to increase in future.

It is happening for the very first time that USA is hosting a franchise cricket league in its soil. Meanwhile tournaments like – MLS (Football), MLB (Major League Baseball) and NBA have a fair share of viewership in the US and the MLC is also expected to create a similar impact and popularize the game of Cricket in the country.

Stadiums at Dallas and Morrisville are set to host all the MLC matches

MLC 2023 league stages has been divided into Two halves. The first half of the tournament will start from July 13th to July 18th at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. After a day’s gap, the league stages will resume from July 20 to July 27 at the Church Park Street in Morrisville before heading back to Dallas for the knockout stages.

The knockouts – Eliminator Match, Qualifier match, Challenger match and the Final will be played from July 27-30. Jio Cinema and Sports 18 will telecast all the MLC games live in India after a wait of 29 days.
