Major League Cricket : Mumbai Indians acquire New York based franchise and extend the MI Family!

One of the most successful franchises in the World – Mumbai Indians have extended their MI family as the 5-time Men’s IPL Champions have now acquired the ownership and operation of a New York based franchise which is all set to be a part of USA’s new franchise league Major League Cricket.

Following the footsteps of other T20 franchise leagues, Major League Cricket will be one of its kind in the United States of America. The League will be organized by American Cricket Enterprise and has been authorized by the cricket board of the USA.

Following the footsteps of KKR, CSK and DC, Mumbai Indians have now total control of the capital outfit of USA New York. The name of the franchise hasn’t been released yet but it will be yet another boost for the most successful team in IPL in getting fresh new talented players who can also shine during the Indian cricketing summer.

Apparently, Mumbai Indians are the only the 2nd investors (after Kolkata Knight Riders) who are fully in control of the happenings in MI New York. Other Indian investors are joint shareholders – Team Texas – CSK & Anurag Jain of Ross Perot Jr. and Seattle Orcas – DC Owners & Microsoft’s Satya Nadella.

Meanwhile, MI New York will become the 5th franchise under Indiawin’s umbrella. Mumbai Indians Men, Mumbai Indians Women, MI Capetown in SA T20, MI Emirates (ILT20) and MI New York. MI Owner Ms. Nita Ambani expressed her feelings after acquiring New York.
