"I'm In Gujarat, Won't Get The Food I Like ...." Mohammed Shami Banters After Match

Gujarat Titans defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 34 runs on Monday to secure a position in the playoffs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Mohammed Shami recorded remarkable figures of 4/20, which also allowed him to become the Purple Cap (awarded to the highest wicket-taker), holder, while Shubman Gill excelled with the bat, reaching a century.

The veteran bowler had a cheeky retort that had everyone in splits when former India head coach Ravi Shastri questioned Shami about the nutritional secret behind his excellence.

Shastri questioned Shami about his diet since the experienced bowler was playing better than ever, even during the busiest summer days. Shastri asked the question, and Shami responded with a sly grin on his face.

Mohammed Shami said “Gujrat mein, hun, mera khaana nahi milega na. Enjoying Gujarati cuisine is something I do when I’m here. I’m won’t get my food here. But, I am loving Gujarati food anyhow.)” Shastri began to giggle after hearing what the Gujarat Titans seamer had to say.

Shami discussed a few additional subjects during the post-match awards ceremony. The veteran pacer praised his partner Mohit Sharma, who had also taken four wickets during the game.

“I was trying to keep it tight and concentrating on my advantages. I usually attempt to bowl in favourable locations. The ball was leaving the deck much as it did during the contest with Delhi. It’s excellent to have a pacer like Mohit Sharma in the middle overs who makes intelligent use of the variations, according to Shami.

Recently in an appeal to the Supreme Court, Shami’s wife sought the arrest of her husband in protest of the High Court’s decision and moved recently from the High Court to the Supreme Court. Despite all this, Shami continues to provide some of his all-time finest performances.
