"If MS Dhoni Was Their Captain ...." Pakistan Great's Massive Statement On Virat Kohli's RCB

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is one of the few teams that hasn’t won the Indian Premier League championship despite participating in the competition from its first season in 2008. Notably, RCB has participated in three IPL finals — in the 2009 (Deccan Chargers), 2011 (Chennai Super Kings and 2016 (SunRisers Hyderabad) seasons — but has lost on each of those occasions.

Wasim Akram, a former captain of Pakistan, believes MS Dhoni would have led RCB to all of these three IPL championships.

If MS Dhoni had been their captain, RCB would have already won three IPL championships. They have yet to receive a single trophy. They have a lot of help. They also have Virat, the best player in the world right now, but sadly they have lost. If Dhoni had been at RCB, he would have assisted them in winning the championship”, said Akram in an interview with Sportskeeda.

Akram praised Dhoni for his leadership skills further, saying the 41-year-old understands how to inspire confidence in his team.

“Dhoni frequently serves as a team’s captain. Even Virat would have developed this habit by this point, but Dhoni did. He displays calmness even when he is not actually tranquil. Players gain confidence when they observe that their captain is calm and retains his hand on their shoulders. Dhoni is a somebody who is aware of how to inspire confidence in his team,” Akram continued.

Notably, Dhoni has led his team to four IPL championships, behind only MI captain Rohit Sharma (5 crowns) in that department. RCB has been Kohli’s team since the T20 league’s inception in 2008, but he is yet to win the coveted championship for the first time in his career.
