Have Borussia Dortmund landed in a trouble?

May it be any game, there is no one called permanent. And always it is noted that whenever the club goes for a big name signing, the counterpart player of the same position might have to settle for less. We have seen this happening in the past and we might see that continuing at the heartland of Germany.

The case is of former Barcelona striker, Paco Alcacer. When he joined the Catalans a few seasons ago after excelling at Valencia, it raised the eyebrows of many. It was indeed clear that the player’s playing time will be reduced and will hurt the development. Moreover, the same happened to the player too. When it seemed all doomed for the player, Borussia Dortmund priced him away from the Spanish giants.

After putting hard work in Germany, when all looked to settle and subtle, Paco Alcacer was reduced to a “super-sub”. Even though the player performed the role of a “super-sub” to the best possible extent, it is not the status a player wants to stick on.

Now the issue is, Borussia Dortmund have signed Erling Braut Haaland from the fellow German side, RB Salzburg. With Paco Alcacer struggling for his playtime at the moment, the 19-year-old’s arrival will definitely reduce the time much more. It might be to the extent where the player can just put in a guest appearance shift on the pitch.

According to the Spanish sports outlet, Marca, Diego Simeone is looking for strikers to add the firepower to his frontline. Atletico Madrid has struggled to find the back of the net because of injury issues to Diego Costa, lack of form with Alvaro Morata and overburdening on Joao Felix.

According to one more sports outlet Bild, the German side is looking for a fee around €40m to let the Spanish international leave Germany. With a lack of firepower upfront, Atletico Madrid can cash in on the situation.

Yes, it might be a risky move for Paco Alcacer who has played the role of Super-sub for a while to step up on the gas and perform like a warrior. However, the clinical edge upfront is the need of the hour for Atletico Madrid and Paco can definitely assure Diego Simeone and his side.
