Haaland once again on the scoresheet as BVB complete revenge against Werder Bremen

Erling Braut Haaland’s name appeared once again on the scoresheet as Borussia Dortmund completed their revenge against Werder Bremen as they defeated Werder Bremen away from their home. Borussia Dortmund registered a comprehensive 2-0 victory against Werder Bremen at Wesser Stadium.

The first half of the football game was marred with heavy rain affecting the performances of both the teams. The rain kept Erling Haaland quiet for an hour or so until he fired the ball past the goalkeeper in the second half.

Though the hosts had two excellent opportunities in the first half. One was in the initial minutes of the game whereas the other one came in the 30th minute of the game. However, they couldn’t capitalise on both of the opportunities keeping the scoreline unchanged. For Borussia Dortmund too, the first half wasn’t too good as they also failed to score the goal. Though Raph found two opportunities for the men in yellow, he was ruled out offsides.

In the second half of the game, the rain reduced at Wesser Stadium and the real game started. Dan-Axel Zagadou scored the goal from the corner in the 52nd minute where he met the corner took by sensation, Jadon Sancho.

After obtaining the momentum, Borussia Dortmund kept the pressure on Werder Bremen by sending the waves of the attacks. Fourteen minutes from the first goal, Erling Haaland found the back of the net after latching the cross Archraf Hakimi. Jadon Sancho made a beautiful run on the wing just to make an excellent pass to the wing-back. The wing-back cut back from outside the box and found Haaland. Haaland didn’t miss the chance and found the back of the net.

Though Dortmund didn’t stop the attacking, they couldn’t find any other success. The backline of the Dortmund stood tall and didn’t allow any damage as they went on to win the game 2-0.

After the victory against Werder Bremen, Borussia Dortmund move up to the third position in the German top tier table and are just three points behind the second positioned RB Leipzig and four points of the leaders, Bayern Munich.
