Graham Neil Edwards known as Jock Edwards emerged in the 1970s as a surprise batsman when he turned out to become one of the biggest sensations in the cricketing field. Surprising quite a lot of New Zealand with the prowess he had for cricketing, Graham Neil Edwards became known in New Zealand for being some of the best new talents out there. A short and stocky man, he was said to be one of the most genial personalities on the field, as he never let anything bother him while he was playing, and was said to have always kept a smile on his face. A man who never lost heart, he always tried his very best for the team he was playing for and served as a source of inspiration for quite a lot of players.

Early Life

Graham Neil Edwards was born on 27th May 1955, in the town of Nelson, New Zealand, and quickly turned out to be one of the best cricket players to have come out of the town. He completed his education at Nelson College. He was interested in cricket from a young age and used to play with the local boys before turning into a professional cricket player.

A very useful right-handed batsman, he played a lot for the New Zealand National Team and was also said to be one of the most useful wicketkeepers on the team.

International Career

A very good batsman of his time, Graham Neil Edwards played a total of eight Test matches, along with a further six One Day International matches. While it is true that he did not play with his full ability in all of these, he was still one of the better players to have been playing for the New Zealand International Team during these matches.
