Good to play Mumbai Indians early in the tournament, says Dinesh Karthik

Kolkata Knight Riders skipper, Dinesh Karthik, on Tuesday, said that It will be good for his side to face Mumbai Indians in their first match of the cash-rich league. They will be facing Mumbai Indians at Shiekh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on 23rd September 2020.

“They have a team of World class players, they are a strong lineup and the amount of IPL titles they have shows that. Its good that we are playing Mumbai early in the tournament every year is a different year, I am sure it will be a great game tomorrow, “ said Dinesh Karthik during a virtual press conference.

Mumbai Indians have always had an upper hand over Kolkata Knight Riders as they have competed against each other in 25 matches in IPL till now in which 19 matches have been won by Mumbai Indians and 6 wins has been claimed by Knight Riders.

KKR has added depth in their lineup by buying Pat Cummins, USA Pacer Ali Khan and Australian spinner Chris Green. They finished at 5th position in the last edition of IPL will be looking forward to qualifying for the playoffs this year with the depth in their lineup.

Speaking in the press conference Eoin Morgan about his role in the team as a finisher to which he replied “I think the squad we have it gives us a lot of options in our batting and bowling. I think within the squad we have a number of versatile cricketers. I know that Andre Russel has played the role of finisher really well if I will be getting the opportunity to do that. I will give my best” said Morgan.

Skipper Karthik also hinted that Shubman gill and Sunil Narine is all set to open the innings for KKR with the kind of lineup we have in our squad it will be difficult to pick who will be our best X1 to play the first match against defending champions Mumbai Indians.
