“From Australia’s Verbal Abuse to absolute meltdown” India has come a long way in Test Cricket

Ian Healy

After accusing India of using an unfair home advantage to win a series, former Australia player Ian Healy found himself in serious water. Healy stated that Australia will have a chance to win the series provided the pitches in India are fair. Cricket analysts were not pleased with Healy’s remarks because they brought up the treatment Asian teams receive in India.

In advance of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Healy has made yet another significant statement, which has put him back in the news. According to Healy, playing it safe won’t help Australia win the series in India.

“I don’t believe that conservatism will help us win in India, but I do believe that Cummins and Morris working together might not be sufficient. Since 2004, we’ve only triumphed in one Test (in India).

Healy added that either Scott Boland, Lance Morris, or both will have to be played for Australia. Notably, Australia’s top pacers Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc won’t be available for the opening Test owing to injuries.

“For the first test, we just have Cummins. We may or may not play two spinners, in which case Boland and Morris are required. Boland would be my choice if we played two quicks, and Morris would enter if we played three quicks.

Boland has some experience playing at the highest level, while Lance Morris has generated a lot of attention for his quickness. “Scotty understands how to work hard for a long time since he has bowled at the MCG a lot on flat wickets that weren’t likely swinging or reverse swinging.

Lance Morris has been putting in a lot of effort on the reverse swing over the past month, and there is a nice lead-in here with a few sessions. The two pacers are eager to play on the subcontinent; they haven’t both done it yet, but they are both extremely qualified to do it, according to Australia’s Josh Hazlewood, who praised the two players.

India must defeat Australia in a series to advance to their second straight WTC final, while Australia is nearly to the WTC final.

Whereas, current Australian players like Usman Khawaja recently praised Star Indian bowler R Ashwin. So, possibly it can be a new strategy for the Kangaroos as the current Australian cricketers are not creating any hustle and just making positive statements towards Indian Cricket whereas Australia’s Ex-cricketers are criticising the playing conditions of India on other side.
