Former Manchester United Defender Phil Jones to Visit India

In an exciting news for all football fans out there, former Manchester United defender Phil Jones is set to visit India on April 6 for the finals of the third edition of Road to Old Trafford.

A unique five-a-side football tournament that is supported by Manchester United, this memorable event will be held in Chennai. Phil is known to be a decorated player, who has won with a Premier League title, UEFA Europa League, and clinched FA Cup victories to his name.

He has also represented England in two FIFA World Cups. Over his illustrious 12-year stint at Old Trafford, the versatile defender made 219 appearances for the Red Devils.

In the initial rounds of the Road to Old Trafford, held in Pune and New Delhi earlier, 40 teams battled it out for the six spots that were up for grabs for the Chennai finals.

Ultimately, it was the Stilton Cafe (Delhi), Tanjore Cafe (Delhi), BP Street (Noida) from New Delhi, along with Three Wise Monkey (Mumbai), Swig (Pune) and K-Bar (Goa) from Pune who qualified for the final stage, which is scheduled to take place in the southern city.

The team that wins the finals will earn themselves an unparalleled and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel to Manchester, UK for an all-expenses paid trip; apart from being allowed to play at the hallowed turf of the legendary Old Trafford stadium.

This iconic stadium is the home ground of one of the most popular clubs in football, Manchester United FC. The global finale, featuring teams from various countries, will be held on June 6 at the celebrated venue.
