Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel “Devastated” after sacked by new club owners

Former Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel who was fired last Wednesday after Chelsea’s shocking 1-0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Champion League group stage match.

Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel mentioned that he was heartbroken after being sacked by the Chelsea new owners as he hoped to stay at the North London club for many upcoming years.

With the tough start at the start to the season, the back to back defeats from Leeds United and Southampton and a tough draw at Tottenham Hotspurs had Chelsea at the mid table.

The new owners of Chelsea Football club, American businessman Todd Boehly took over from the Russian Businessman Roman Abramovich. The newest owner splashed the money on new players as Chelsea had spent around £271.1 million in a single Transfer window- which created a new Premier League record for the most money spent to buy players in a single season.

In less than 100 days of taking charge of Chelsea Football Club, Todd Boehly have already sacked the manager who won them Champions league in his debut season. Bohely replaced Thomas Tuchel with the Brighton and former England player, Graham Potter.

“This is one of the most difficult statements I have ever had to write, and it is one which I hoped I would not need to do for many years. I am devastated that my time at Chelsea has come to an end,” Tuchel wrote on Twitter.

“This is a club where I felt at home, both professionally and personally.”

In January 2021, Thomas Tuchel was appointed as Chelsea manager replaced the former Chelsea player, Frank Lampard. At Lampard’s time as manager, Chelsea were struggling to win matches and were 9th in the PL table.

Thomas Tuchel in his maiden mid season as Chelsea Manager made an instant change in the dressing room, at the end of the season, Chelsea somehow had a successful season as they finish fourth in the Premier League points table as they also reached the FA Cup final and most importantly won their second Champions league title under Thomas Tuchel.

Meanwhile, In his second season as Chelsea manager, Tuchel had a rough season as Chelsea finished third in the Points table but have lost two domestic finals- FA Cup finals and League cup finals but lost to rival Liverpool on both occasion.

It was also reported, Thomas Tuchel’s relationship with new owner, Todd Boehly had become drained as the season continues as the former PSG manager believes he had a very less role in the transfer window and had much to do other matters.

“The pride and joy I felt at helping the team to win the Champions League and the Club World Cup will stay with me forever,” Tuchel said.

“I am honoured to have been a part of this club’s history and the memories of the last 19 months will always have a special place in my heart.”

After sacking of Tuchel, Chelsea appointed Graham Potter from Brighton on a five-year contract. The pressure will be on Potter to delivered good results under the new owners.
