7-time Ballon D’or winner and World cup winner with Argentina, Lionel Messi is all set to enter the final months of his contract with Paris Saint Germain and there is not assurity whether he will extend his stay at Parc Des Princes. He arrived at the club following an infamous exit from Barcelona and he has not been able to deliver the amount of success that PSG would have hoped for.
Although Messi has good stats wearing PSG colors, accounting for 60 Goals 7 assists. In a total of 67 appearances in the last 2 years, the Argentinian scored 29 goals and provided 31 assists. However, his goals did not impact PSG’s result that much and UCL exit also sparked a lot of criticism towards him.
When signing the 5-time Ballon D’or in 2021, PSG had high hopes of using his experience to win the tournament but Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s expressions will give you a gist of what actually the outcome was. A 3-0 aggregate loss to Bayern in the last 16 and now PSG are currently on a 2 match losing streak in Ligue 1.
Although it won’t negatively affect the French outfit’s hopes of landing Ligue 1 this year but Messi’s future is under uncertainty. A few days ago, Fabrizio Romano broke out that Saudi outfit and Al-Nassr’s direct rivals Al-Hilal offered him a contract worth 400 Million Euros per year. Then it was made clear that Messi is not leaving European football at least until the next Copa America but he has no agreement with any club at the moment.

FC Barcelona Vice President Rafa Yuste recently said that they are behind Messi and want to bring the Argentinian back next year but Barca’s Financial fair play rules could be a roadblock. Head coach Xavi is in direct contact with Messi as they look to bring him back and PSG even after matching Al-Hilal’s proposal, are awaiting for Messi’s confirmation.
