Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United thrashed the Belgian side, Club Brugge by a scoreline of 5-0 and on an aggregate of 6-1. Odion Ighalo, Bruno Fernandes, Fred, and Scott McTominay were on the scoresheet for the Red Devils at Old Trafford.
However, from the 22nd-minute mark onwards, it was all Manchester United. The spark of Club Brugge was shorted and Manchester United appeared like a thundering bolt. The story of dominance started when Daniel James’ shot was saved by Deli, an outfield player, through his hands. The penalty was awarded and Deli was shown a direct red card. Further, it was confirmed by a lengthy VAR check.
"It's a great moment. I've been waiting for this. I've played three games, now I've got a goal to start my Manchester United career, with the team I've supported from when I was young."

Bruno Fernandes sent the goalkeeper the wrong way before slotting the ball into the bottom corner of the net with a stuttering run-up. Following Fernandes’ goal, Ighalo started shining for Manchester United. Spaniard Juan Mata cut back and sent the ball to Odion Ighalo who didn’t make any mistake before striking the ball. The player dedicated his first goal at Old Trafford to his deceased sister. McTominay added the third one at the stroke of the half time and made it 3-0 before the teams went to the break. Moreover, the final output of the game was decided by the end of the half time itself.
In the second half, both the teams played a waiting game before Luke Shaw’s thunderous strike was saved by Simon Mignolet. However, Fred, who had just one goal in his United career took his tally into three within the final 10 minutes of the game. Unselfish Jesse Lingard, who ran down the right-wing, cut back and provided an assist to Fred who slotted the ball into the net.
