Chasing a target of 181 runs, Nepal were in trouble at 63-6 in the 21st over before Airee and Gulsan Jha put on a stable partnership for the sixth wicket. Airee super-scored crucial 79 runs off 85 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes, while the opener Kushal Bhurtel made a contribution of 35 runs. Other batters who scored runs for Nepal are Sandeep Lamichhane made an unbeaten 23 off 37 balls and Gulsan Jha who gathered 12 crucial runs with Dipendra Singh Airee.
Airee was also the pick of the Nepal bowlers, taking 1-14 in his five overs. He dismissed Basil Hameed, who looked strong from UAE. Dipendra got him caught in the hands of Karan at 29.
Airee’s performance was a welcome return to form for the Nepal batsman. He had struggled initially but come up as the match-winner for Nepal. Aerie solely took his team to a successful run-chase given by UAE.
