The match against Scotland started off well for the West Indies. After a couple of boundaries by the West Indies, the openers were looking in very good touch. So, it became essential that they go on to perform well further, but the whole batting line-up failed to score big runs.

  • King got couple of boundaries initially, but due to the brilliant bowling of Mcmullen, so the score was 9/1. West Indies was certainly not able to take the shock of the early breakthrough.
  • Soon, the score was 81/6, and it looked like they will not be able to reach even 120. However, a good partnership between Holder and Shepherd helped the team to go pass 150 runs. But, once this partnership was over, then the team started crumbling again.
  • Soon, West Indies was all out on the score of 181
  • The target of 182 looked easy, but there is no doubt that against a team like West Indies it was certainly tough for Sctoland.
  • The batter of the Scottish team batter really well. They ensured that they go on to perform well. Even though Scotland lost the first wicket without any run. But Cross and Mcmullen went on to have a partnership of 125 runs.

Soon, Scotland managed to win the game by scoring 185 runs on only 43.3 overs. This match certainly a conclusion for the West Indies, that they are not coming for the World Cup. It is certainly a shock for the fans. Now they need to wait for another four years.
