Cristiano Ronaldo Not thinking About Ballon d’Or

Cristiano Ronaldo has said that the Golden ball is not on his mind at the moment as he doesn’t believe too much in the individual awards. Ronaldo has already won Golden Ball, which is also known as Ballon d’Or, five times in his career.

The Portuguese has again been nominated for the award and if he wins it this time around as well, which is most probable, he will go past Lionel Messi who also has five Golden Balls to his name.

But, according to Ronaldo, it doesn’t matter for him because it’s just an individual award. The team awards fascinate him more because he reckons if you win team awards and win trophies, you automatically put yourself in the position of winning individual awards.

“The most important is the collective awards. If you win the collective awards you have more chance to win the individual awards. The Golden Ball is for me in second place.” Ronaldo was quoted saying.

Cristiano Ronaldo was addressing the media ahead of the Champions League game that Juventus have to play against Lokomotiv Moscow. He also made it clear that although he is approaching his mid-thirties now, he has no plans to retire.

The Football fans were starting to speculate about Ronaldo’s future when he recently stated that he was enjoying things “outside of football, so who knows what will happen in the next year or two?”

But, Ronaldo put the speculations to rest saying that there is not a certain age where the career of a Footballer finishes. If you are delivering on the pitch and your body is holding up, you are good enough to continue.

Ronaldo insisted that his aim is to help Juventus win both the trophies domestically in Italy and also, the European title. Juventus are in a pretty strong position in Europe at the moment as they are topping their Champions League group with 4 points in 2 games
