CPL 2023: Three Wickets Contribution by Imad Wasim

The 1st match of Caribbean Premier League 2023 happened yesterday, and it was a match of collective effort. Both the team gave a head-to-head competition with each other. However, in the end, Jamaica Tallawahs won by 11 runs. The teams entertained the crowd with 8 sixes each. Saint Lucia Kings lost the match, but there were several players who were able to show the quality Cricket for them. For Jamaica Tallawahs Brandon King played a captain’s knock and won the Player of the Series award. However, among all the bowlers Imad Wasim was certainly the most brilliant one.

Important wickets were taken by Imad Wasim

Saint Lucia Kings certainly acted as a strong team, and it was not easy to stop them from achieving the target. However, all the bowlers acted as a unit, and Imad Wasim was certainly the best among them. He went on to take the wickets of 3 main batters, and that was putting consistent pressure on Saint Lucia. 

  • Wasim first got the big fish, that was the captain Faf du Plessis ©. The opening stand was broken on the score of 25 only. 
  • Soon it was looking like Saint Lucia would be able to easily achieve the score of 188 runs. However, soon Wasim took the wicket of Sikandar Raza. In this manner, Raza was not able to form a partnership with Roston Chase. 
  • The next wicket of Kimani Melius was taken by Wasim right on the first ball. It was due to this contribution, that Jamaica Tallawahs were able to restrict the win of the match. 

It can be said that there were many players in the team who performed really well. From Jamaica Tallawahs it was Brandon King. From Saint Lucia, and Imad Wasim. From Saint Lucia Kings it was Roston Chase. All these players competed really well for their respective teams.
