CPL 2023: All Rounder Performance of Roston Chase Goes In Vain
In the 1st match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023, Roston Chase was certainly able to give a brilliant performance through both bat and bowl. However, still, his team Saint Lucia Kings lost against Jamaica Tallawahs. But there is no doubt that both teams won the respect because the match was very competitive. It shows that these two teams have the chance to be at the top of the points table. But for that Ron Chase alone is not enough to take the team forward, the whole team needs to play as a unit.

Contribution of Roston Chase
Bowling
Saint Lucia Kings bowled first, and they made it certain that they would get early wickets. But unfortunately, they were not able to do so. The opponent’s opening partnership was of 4 runs, and Chase made it certain that he’ll be able to put a break on it. He got the important wicket of Kirk McKenzie, who had already hit 2 fours and a six.
Shamarh Brooks was getting settled with his 12 runs, but that was stopped as Roston Chase ensured to get his wickets before he could have got settled.
The next important wicket was of R.Reifer who was forming a brilliant partnership with Brandon King. But Before Reifer had got settled, he was out on a brilliant delivery by Chase.
Batting
In the 2nd innings, Saint Lucia had a big target in front of them. They had to chase the target of 188 runs. It was 57 for 2 when Chase came out to bat. He formed a brilliant partnership with Roshon Primus. That partnership was certainly not enough to make his team win. They were able to accumulate only 176 runs, by the end of 20 overs.
- Runs – 53
- Balls – 31
- 4s – 4
- 6s – 3
- Strike rate – 170.97
Saint Lucia Kings need to ensure that they don’t lose their self-confidence. That is because they have played brilliantly well, and they lost by a small margin.
