Since the second Commonwealth Games in 1934, INDIA has participated in all, but four events. India has organized the games once before, in 2010. With 101 medals – 38 gold, 27 silver & 36 bronze – it was India’s most fruitful Commonwealth Games to record. Shooting has been India’s most successful sport in these events.

CANADA is one of just six countries to have competed in every Commonwealth Games since the first British Empire Games in 1930.

The Canadian team received 54 medals at the inaugural Games in 1930 in Hamilton, Ontario, while their highest overall medal count of 129 medals came in 1994 at the Victoria Games. At the 1978 Commonwealth Games in Edmonton, Alberta, team Canada won the most medals with 109 – 45 gold, 31 silver & 33 bronze.

Canada has staged the event four times and ranks third in the all-time Commonwealth Games medals table with 1318 medals – 413 gold, 443 silver & 462 bronze.

Since the first Empire Games in 1930, ENGLAND has been one of only six nations to feature in every Commonwealth Games.  The Commonwealth Games are the only global multi-sport competition in which English competitors participate under the name of England.

England is second in the all-time medal tally, with an aggregate of 2146 medals – 716 Gold, 717 Silver & 713 Bronze. England has held the Games twice and will host a third time in 2022, commencing this month.

Australia has hosted 5 of the 21 games, with the Gold Coast holding the 2018 Commonwealth Games. They have topped the leaderboard in 13 of the 21 events, compared to England’s 7 and Canada’s 1, and have finished on the podium in all bar the inaugural games in 1930. The Australian flag bearer has won gold in all, but one of the 18 Commonwealth Games hosted so far.

The 2006 Commonwealth Games had the highest total medal count (226 medals), as well as the most silver (69) and bronze medals (68). The 1994 Games still hold the record for the most gold medals won by Australia, at 87.
