After a dreadful end to their 2022/23 campaign, Chelsea FC announced the signing of Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig. The Frenchman is not only the first signing of the summer but he is also the first one to arrive since Mauricio Pochetinno took over as the Head coach.
The West Londoners will be backing a former manager of their North London (Spurs) rivals to do the job. And certainly, it has become a norm. Over the last few years, we have been seeing Chelsea and Spurs exchanging managers and Pochetinno has become the latest entrant in that list.
He has got a massive job to do or a turnaround to make as he is taking over a club that has immense potential but finished 13th in PL last season. The main job for him will be to get the current set of players and the upcoming recent signings, together as a unit.
Which means forming a Core group of players that can take for the club forward. Tedd Boehly of course spent millions on some fringe signings but Poch has a lot to build upon. Although there is plenty of noise around exits of some big names from Chelsea but Christopher Nkunku’s signing is huge boost.

He will arrive at a price of €60m (£51m). “I am incredibly happy to be joining Chelsea. A big effort was made to bring me to the club and I am looking forward to meeting my new coach and teammates and showing the Chelsea supporters what I can do on the pitch.” – Christopher Nkunku said.
